Dr Damian Welbourne

Damian studied at the University of Newcastle and is one of the partners at Raymond Terrace family Practice. He has been a part of RTFP for over 25 years. Damian enjoys the diversity in general practice, and looks after lots of patients with chronic illness, as well as many older patients. Damian loves to get outdoors, and is a keen runner, mountain biker and snow skiier.

Interests:

  •  Skin cancer and minor surgery
  • Travel medicine
  • Teaching GP registrars and medical students

Dr Chris Boyle

Dr Chris Boyle graduated from the Univeristy of NSW in 1979. He spent time at the Royal Newcastle Hospital as a resident doctor. He was a GP registrar at Narromine after finishing his residency. After a time in the UK at Sheffield doing Obstetrics he came back to Australia and joined the Raymond Terrace Family Practice in 1984.
Chris is a GP supervisor and has a role in teaching the GP registrars who rotate through the practice. Outside the practice, Chris enjoys walking, gardening and cooking.

Dr Elizabeth Kaiko

Dr Elizabeth Kaiko grew up in Newcastle and graduated from The University of Newcastle in 1984. She spent 4 years working  in the Canberra hospitals  before returning to Newcastle to complete her general practice training with the Family Medicine Programme. She joined Raymond Terrace Family Practice in 1990. Dr Kaiko works part-time and is not taking on new patients

  • Chronic disease

  • Preventative (physical and mental) health.

Dr Sarah Bayley

Sarah grew up in a mission hospital in Kwazulu Natal in South Africa that was run by her father. This fostered a lifelong interest in medicine and helping people. 

Sarah studied Medicine at the University of Newcastle graduating in 1998. She completed her internship and residency in Newcastle working at The John Hunter , Mater and Maitland hospitals.

She worked in paediatrics and considered following this specialty before completing her specialist GP training, being awarded her fellowship in
2006. During her training she worked in Muswellbrook before joining Raymond Terrace Family Practice in 2002. From this time Sarah has enjoyed varied roles as a General Practice including working in refugee health and in medical education, while maintaining an ongoing involvement with rural development in sub-Saharan Africa

Sarah has served on the board of Valley to Coast – General Practice Training for the past 10 years, Chairing and leading the board for the last 8. Sarah is also currently part of the advisory council for the Diploma of Child Health, part of the Sydney Children’s Network. She is married with a family of 3 boys and enjoys serving and living in the local rural community.

Dr Isaac Kwok

Dr Isaac Kwok graduated from the University of Newcastle in 2014. He completed his internship and residency across the Hunter New England Health network. He joined Raymond Terrace Family Practice in 2019 and completed General Practice training in 2020. He has also completed a Diploma of Child Health. Dr Kwok enjoys all areas of general practice and loves the challenge of the variety in general practice. Outside of work, he enjoys the beach, good coffee, AFL and is heavily involved with his church community. 

Dr Sophie Wagner

Dr Wagner is currently on maternity leave.

Dr Sophie Wagner graduated from Medicine from the University of Sydney in 2018. Prior to this she was working as a Pharmacist. Sophie completed her internship and residency in the Hunter New England Network working in Newcastle and Taree. She started her GP training in 2021. Sophie enjoys all areas of General Practice and in particular Paediatrics. Outside of work she enjoys bushwalking and swimming.


Dr Melanie Kotalawala

Dr Kotalawala is currently on maternity leave

Dr Melanie Kotalawala graduated from the University of Newcastle in 2013 with a Bachelor of Medicine. She was born and grew up in Sydney but relocated to Newcastle after she fell in love with the region. She spent a year of rural training in Tamworth. She did her internship and residency in the Hunter New England Network, working at Maitland, Taree, John Hunter, Mater and Belmont hospitals. She has completed a certificate in Emergency  Medicine after working in the Emergency Department for a year in 2016. She loves all aspects of general practice with special interest in chronic disease, womens health and paediatrics. She lives in Newcastle with her husband and children and enjoys knitting, sewing, camping and spending time with her friends. 

Dr Dylan Morley

Dr Dylan Morley has a rural background, from country South Australia. He is personnel of the RAAF. Dr Morley trained at the University of Adelaide. In his leisure time, Dr Morley enjoys painting, going to the gym, reading, watching movies, going to the beach. You can see Dr Morley at RTFP on a Monday, Tuesday, Thursday or Friday.

Dr Gabriella Marriott

Dr Marriott completed a Doctor of Medicine at the University of Wollongong in 2022. She then completed her Internship and Residency at Prince of Wales Hospital in Sydney, with secondments to Lismore Base Hospital and Canterbury Hospital in a wide range of specialties.

Prior to medicine, she completed a Bachelor of Science (Pathology & Microbiology) and worked in research at the Garvan institute working with cancer treatments.

When not at work, Dr Marriott enjoys time at the beach, surfing, walking, travelling and snowboarding. She has recently moved to Newcastle to start her GP training.

Dr Charlotte Quinn-Watson

Dr Charlotte Quinn-Watson graduated from the university of Tasmania in 2013. After completing internship at the royal Hobart hospital in 2014 she went straight into Psychiatry training 2015. She worked in psychiatry for 7 years, both in training positions and as a locum all over Australia. In 2022 she made the switch to General practice training and completed a residency in Hunter New England before working in General practice in 2023. She will be joining Raymond terrace in August 2024 after a blissful year of maternity leave with her first child. 
Charlotte is passionate about wholistic health and wellbeing. She is currently undertaking a Masters in Integrative health via Southern Cross University (SCU), with a focus on nutritional medicine. She also has a particular interest in women’s health and mental health. 
Outside of work Charlotte enjoys hanging with her family which includes her two cheeky dogs, at the beach, park, or coffee shop.

Dr Paul Foley

Dr Paul Foley graduated in 2020 from the University of Newcastle. After 4 years of working in Wagga Wagga, he is planning to complete his GP registrar training in the Hunter, New England area.
Apart from a broad range of interests in Medicine, he enjoys bush walking, camping, martial arts and board games.
